All new instruments are guaranteed one year and come with case, two reeds and a free tutor. Discount prices can be quoted on all new instruments not already mentioned below. 

 Carriage; £6 contribution towards postage, packing and insurance in transit.

Please note:  instruments over £600 are not generally available on hire

NEW OBOES

BUFFET 'ARTIST' Oboe, in grenadilla wood, silver-plated keys.  This instrument has a plastic lining to the interior of the top joint , and is therefore much less likely to crack.  COVERED HOLE keywork.  Simple octaves, thumb-plate model, with l.h. C to D trill key; a good easy-to-blow instrument for a learner up to quite an advanced grade.  List price £1284, please enquire for our latest discount price.  Not available on hire. Some special purchase terms may be arranged.

WARD & WINTERBOURN, two models, as follows:

TW1, grenadilla wood, silver-plated keywork, thumb-plate, simple octaves, single trill key  -  a well-known, reputable and reliable instrument.  List price £1032, our price £855.

TW1A, same as the TW1, except that it has covered holes, and would therefore suit anyone with, say, narrower fingers;  accuracy of placing becoming less important. List price £1102 our price £885.

SECOND-HAND OBOES

  Please let us know your  requirements,  whether for a new or second-hand oboe.  

Howarth "B"   SOLD   £365 or hire at £86.00 per quarter.  The Howarth 'B' oboe is a well-known and much respected instrument.    The keywork system is the type that thousands of beginners have learnt on with considerable success, with open holes, simple octaves and one trill key.  The instrument is wood, and the sound is excellent.

Bassoons

We do not keep a stock of bassoons, either new or second-hand, since most enquiries have turned  out to be for something other than what is in stock.  If you enquire about a bassoon, however,  whether new or second-hand, we can:

      a) quote you a discount price for any new model.  Delivery on approval - without obligation - can be arranged, usually, within a few days depending on delivery.

or  b) search the market for a suitable second-hand instrument, and again, without obligation, have one that interests you sent to us on approval by our colleagues in the trade. 

This system has proved very successful since it cuts out much of the stress and bother of visiting around.
