with the right to buy

There are three main reasons why you might hire an instrument rather than buy it outright:

- to let the new player try it out before you are fully committed

- because you don't wish to lay out all the capital at this time 

- because sometimes people can choose a better instrument by hiring.

With WOODWIND WORKSHOP there is a fourth reason: because you have a whole YEAR in which to buy (or 15 months by arrangement and for all instruments over £400  -  guarantee extended to 15 months in such cases) - and the price goes down each quarter (see below).

This is how our hire scheme works:

You pay so much rental each three months (each quarter). The first payment is made on the day you take the instrument and then subsequent payments are made quarterly by standing order at a bank (NOT 'direct debit'). For instruments over £400 you have the choice of paying a MONTHLY rental after the first quarter's payment.   However, instruments costing over £600 are not eligible for the Hire Scheme.

Our rental for new instruments is based upon the DISCOUNT price. (All our new instruments are priced at substantial discounts).

During the period of hire, maintenance is free (excluding reeds) and this includes parts and labour.  If you buy, there is a ONE YEAR GUARANTEE on all instruments, new or second-hand, starting from the first date of hire. 

The options to buy:

You have the right to buy at any time during the FIRST YEAR of hire. The price goes down each quarter, but please note that although a large part of the rent you pay is deducted each quarter, not ALL of it is deducted. Consequently the total amount paid to purchase the instrument does increase by a margin each quarter, so the earlier you buy, the less you pay. 

But as stated above, with NEW instruments we start the process off at the DISCOUNT price, so in effect, each quarter you lose a bit of the discount.  

Your hire agreement will quote four purchase prices, one for each quarter (five prices if you have 15 months in which to buy).

Please note:   1) the rentals are set at a level that allows the price to drop to a modest figure within one year

                    2) this is NOT a hire-purchase agreement. It is a simple hire agreement that incorporates the right to buy.

Some people hire for three or six months and then buy, others wait the whole year until the price is at its lowest. Still others plan to buy after the first three months and then find they are undecided because of the player's progress, or they may not have the cash available.

As the scheme is flexible they don't have to worry.

Cancellation:

You can cancel your hire agreement at any time upon giving one week's notice, and returning the instrument (or of course, by buying!)
