Corton £170 or hire at £40 per quarter. This is an excellent, well- tried wood instrument. Many of the earlier ones were inclined to be a bit 'stuffy', but this one was carfefully vetted before purchase and has been well overhauled. Its sound is good quality and clear. A point to notice is the rings at the ends of the upper joint (3rd picture below). There are wood instruments without that refinement, installed to help prevent cracking of the wood in adverse conditions. The case is very robust and as you can see in the open-case picture below has an extra layer of material that goes over the instrument to give further insulation against damage in transport. Altogether a worthwhile purchase at a very low price.
