This instrument will take anyone through all the grades, 1 to 8, though in our experience players who reach Grade 6 start hankering after a wooden instrument. With this instrument changing doesn't become essential. If you would like to improve the already good sound you can make a useful difference by simply buying a first class mouthpiece. Yamaha mouthpieces usually make a change unnecessary.
